The theme for this year’s conference, “AT A DEFINING MOMENT: ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND THE FUTURE OF LEGAL PRACTICE IN EAST AFRICA”, reflects a profession operating within a period of significant transition. Legal systems are adapting to technological advancement, economic realignment, regulatory evolution, and increasing demands placed upon institutions that anchor governance and commerce.

Central to this year’s programme is the sub-theme, “Exploring Justice, Rule of Law, Innovation, & Ethics in the Digital Age,” which examines how technological advancement is reshaping legal systems, transforming professional practice, and challenging traditional understandings of justice, accountability, and ethical responsibility.
