We are pleased to welcome you to the 31st Annual Conference and General Meeting of the East Africa Law Society (EALS), co-hosted with the Zanzibar Bar Association. This year, we gather in the enchanting island of Zanzibar, Tanzania — a place steeped in maritime heritage, cultural confluence, and a deep tradition of community and commerce — to continue building on three decades of steadfast dedication to the rule of law, regional integration, and the advancement of the legal profession in East Africa.
This is more than a conference. It is a celebration of continuity and progress, a gathering of legal professionals whose collective resolve has shaped legislative frameworks, strengthened justice institutions, upheld civic liberties, and deepened the bonds of a more unified East Africa. For thirty-one years, EALS has remained an enduring pillar of the region, advocating for justice, nurturing good governance, and elevating legal excellence across our diverse nations.
